Last night I shot a Sandusky high school baseball. Something was a little different. I was calm. I was quiet. I didn't swear under my breath when I missed a play. I noticed blades of grass on the other side of the fence as they fluttered in the evening breeze. If the world is content to blow in the breeze and squint into golden light then I should be as well. Cliché photo, cliché idea.... what of it?

Wonders

Hands down the best assignment that I've had here in Sandusky. This is Jackson and Denver who were born with a sensory-processing disorder similar to, but not yet diagnosed as autism. They are trying to raise money to get a dog to assist the boys. Great experience.... had to leave early to shoot baseball....

Quiet Rides Back To The Office

Its an oddly sobering sensation to stand in the spot where a person's life ended. A sense of fragility is hidden in the harsh exterior of death. Too often death comes in a violent mass of crushed steal and shocks of electricity, but what comes after can hopefully be peace and quiet, where the only sound is wind blowing the grass and neighbors quietly chatting about the child that used to play next door.

Doggy Dash

I was convinced today that the healing power of a dog is a very real thing. Having had an average day of running around, all my stresses seemed to melt away when the first wet nose smudged my lens and the first puff of doggy breath filled my lungs.

For Tyler
Hello. How 'bout that ride in? I guess that's why they call it Sin City. You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!
